Welcome to My World of Joyful Art

Hello, I’m J. N’Chelle, an artist based in Marietta, GA. My work is rooted in joy, creativity, and the belief that self-expression has the power to bring people back to themselves.

My journey into painting began in an unexpected way. On our 10th anniversary, my husband gifted me an art set. That single gesture opened a door I didn’t know I needed. Painting became a space where I could slow down, notice beauty more deeply, and reconnect with a sense of joy that often gets lost in the pace of everyday life.

A Creative Heritage

Art has always been part of my story. As a child, I watched my father carefully paint on canvas cloth, carving custom frames to complement each finished piece. My grandmother’s imagination was just as powerful. She could bring any idea to life with her brush, painting whatever we dreamed up together.

Those early memories shaped the way I approach creativity today. They taught me that art is not just about technique. It is about intention, care, and the freedom to express what words sometimes cannot.

A Non-Traditional Path, Informed by the Corporate World

Before fully embracing life as an artist, I spent nearly a decade working in the corporate world as a Senior Accountant. I understand firsthand the structure, expectations, and pressures that come with professional environments. I also understand how easy it is for creativity to be pushed aside in the name of productivity.

That experience deeply informs my work today. It is the reason I believe so strongly in creative outlets that feel approachable, calming, and respectful of people’s time and energy.

Alongside my studio practice, I now host self-paced corporate creative experiences designed to help teams slow down, reconnect, and create together. These sessions are intentionally calm and pressure-free, allowing participants to move at their own rhythm while finding moments of connection through creativity.

Artistic Style and Medium

My work lives at the intersection of abstraction and realism, inviting viewers to find their own meaning within each piece. I work primarily in oil paints and mixed media, layering texture and color to create paintings that celebrate joy, freedom, and emotional expression.

Each piece begins with intention and evolves through intuition, resulting in artwork that feels expressive, grounded, and alive.

My practice is shaped by the creative influence of my father and grandmother, both of whom taught me that art is about expression rather than rules. I want my work to feel approachable, honest, and alive.
